what goes on around here.

i had to stop taping so i could yell at mud for trying to drag jack across the room by his neck skin.



for the record, i haven't cut jack's nails in a REALLLLLY long time for this very reason. mud's head is constantly covered in scabs.

irresistible.

i have a thing for tiny versions of everyday objects. let's be honest... it's a borderline compulsion. so naturally when i saw the recipe for tiny pies (or, the single serving pie in a jar as they call it over at our best bites) i knew it was only a matter of time until i made these for my main sweet eater. and since i'm unemployed and not quite a new mom... i spent a couple of hours this afternoon making my house more dirty than it already was!

they provide a recipe if you follow the link above, but i didn't follow it. instead i made one regular pie crust recipe (one i'd used and loved before) which translated almost perfectly to a dozen tiny pies. for the filling i just improvised using the frozen triple berry mix i already had. and i took some pictures :)

my FAVORITE part about these is that you just put the lids on and freeze them until you want them. how great is that? then you bake at 375 for 50-60 minutes.

hopefully they'll turn out delicious :)

since i haven't provided any adorable mud pictures in a little bit, here you go. mud is currently sleeping under the table and releasing noxious gas into the atmosphere... BUT a couple days ago he was sleeping with his dad on the couch. he contorts like so...
